Links Letters
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Links Letters?
Links Letters is a one-time purchase series of 12 beautifully illustrated historical fiction letters mailed to your door over 6 months (2 letters per month). Each letter is written in the voice of Red Harlan, a young, rookie caddie on the PGA Tour in 1979. You’ll relive the lost venues, real tournaments, real players, and a unique era of golf — all through Red’s letters.
How many letters do I receive and when?
You receive 12 letters total — two mailed approximately every month for six months. Your first pair ships according to the date you select during purchase. Each mailing includes the full letter, Red’s original pen-and-pencil hole sketch, and authentic-style inserts (newspaper clipping and postcard/sticker/replica ticket).
Is this a subscription or a one-time purchase?
It is a one-time purchase. You pay once and receive all 12 letters over the next six months. There is no recurring charge and no automatic renewal.
Can I purchase this as a gift?
Yes! At checkout you can add a gift message and we’ll include a special introductory note. The recipient will receive the full series just like a regular order.
What’s inside each letter?
- Red Harlan’s full handwritten-style story (5/6 full pages)
- An original pen-and-pencil sketch of the decisive hole from that tournament - including course architecture details
- Two collectible inserts: a faux newspaper clipping and a postcard/sticker/replica ticket
Are the stories real or fiction?
The golf history (with the exception of dates), tournament results, courses, players, and 1970s town details are real. Red Harlan, Tommy Whitaker, and the personal stories Red tells his brother are historical fiction created to bring the era to life in an entertaining way.
Who is Red Harlan?
Red is a young, rookie caddie just learning the ropes on the PGA Tour. He’s rough around the edges, funny, honest, and deeply loves the game of golf. His Roanoke Virginia upbringing shines through his letters. You'll feel like you’re getting real 1979 mail from someone who was actually there.
When will my letters ship?
- First mailing: within a day or 2 of the shipping date you select at checkout
- Subsequent mailings: roughly every 2–3 weeks
Delivery within the continental U.S. usually takes 3–7 days after mailing.
Do you provide tracking numbers?
We use USPS First-Class or Presort Mail for the best combination of cost and speed. Individual tracking numbers are not provided for each letter (standard for letter mailings).
What is your refund policy?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of purchase. Full refund if no letters have shipped. Partial refund (minus the cost of letters already mailed) if any have shipped. See our full Refund Policy for details.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, Links Letters only ships to the United States. We ship to all 50 states and military bases.
What if I have a question or something goes wrong?
We’re real people who love golf and want you to love your letters. Email us anytime at support@linksletters.com and we’ll respond quickly.
